Luca Méndez has photographed for The New York Times Magazine, Monocle, Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, the Lisbon Architecture Triennale, and the Portuguese maritime archive. Two solo exhibitions (Lisbon, 2022 · Porto, 2024). Represented by Agency Saudade since 2021.

Work is slow on purpose. A typical editorial commission is shot across three to seven days. Documentary projects run from two weeks to a season. The result is fewer frames, more time with each subject, and prints that hold up at scale.

Twelve frames made over six mornings — the hour after sunrise, before the trams begin. Shot on a single 35mm prime, available light, no flash. A small zine is in production for autumn.
